This is what George Lucas refuses to admit and what you will not find in any Star Wars trilogy dvd featurettes. There has always been the comparison between Akira Kurosawa's Hidden Fortress and George Lucas' Star Wars (A New Hope). Fotress came first. While Lucas denies any simillarities, we'll leave this video for your viewing pleasure:
